The following units are available as stand-alone courses leading to Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs) at Level 5, accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). They are based on the SFEDI National Occupational Standards for business advisers and social enterprise support. The Certificate and Diploma are recognised by the Institute of Consulting and the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs.

Unit E5.01 Understanding social enterprise: This unit covers the underpinning knowledge required to work with and for social enterprises in a professional capacity.

Unit E5.02 Promoting social enterprise: This unit focuses on the skills of promoting social enterprise opportunities to potential stakeholders. It involves practical work with a group of potential clients.

Unit E5.03 Developing social enterprises: This unit is for people working with new start social enterprises on the development of their business plan.

Unit E5.04 Sustaining social enterprises: This unit is for people who are working with established social enterprises that want to review and improve their services.

Unit E5.05 Personal professional development: This unit provides you with all the tool you need to identify, plan, implement and review your own continuing professional development

Certificate in social enterprise support: Candidates must complete units E5.01, Unit E5.05 plus one of the other units listed above.

Diploma in social enterprise support: This is awarded to people successfully completing all five of the above units.
